En tout cas, le Big\u00a0bang est un sujet scientifique dont tout le monde semble avoir entendu parler. Cependant, il appara\u00eet que g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement les id\u00e9es ne sont pas tr\u00e8s claires \u00e0 son propos.<\/p>\n<p>Justement, dans les sujets que je vais aborder prochainement sur ce site, il en sera question. Voici donc pour moi l\u2019occasion d\u2019inaugurer les articles de vulgarisation de ce journal\u00a0: je vous propose d\u2019aborder la question du Big\u00a0bang, en l\u2019illustrant d\u2019exp\u00e9riences simples que chacun pourra r\u00e9aliser.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Le terme <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Big_Bang\" title=\"Le Big bang\" target=\"_blank\">Big bang<\/a> \u2013 litt\u00e9ralement, \u00ab\u202fgrand boum\u202f\u00bb \u2013 a \u00e9t\u00e9 introduit en 1950 par le cosmologiste et astronome britannique <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fred_Hoyle\" title=\"Fred HOYLE\" target=\"_blank\">Fred\u00a0<span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Hoyle<\/span><\/a> au cours d\u2019une \u00e9mission de radio de la <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/radio\" title=\"BBC\" target=\"_blank\">BBC<\/a> intitul\u00e9e <em>The Nature of Things<\/em>. En passant, il utilisa ce terme dans un sens ironique dans la mesure o\u00f9, au moins \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque, il ne consid\u00e9rait pas que cette th\u00e9orie f\u00fbt fond\u00e9e. L\u2019expression devait n\u00e9anmoins faire mouche, \u00e0 telle point qu\u2019elle est largement utilis\u00e9e d\u00e9sormais.<\/p>\n<p>Elle porte cependant \u00e0 confusion car elle laisse <a href=\"http:\/\/www.littre.org\/definition\/accroire\" title=\"D\u00e9finition de \u00ab accroire \u00bb dans le Littr\u00e9\" target=\"_blank\">accroire<\/a> que le Big bang serait un \u00e9v\u00e8nement explosif et ponctuel, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire localis\u00e9, tant dans le temps que dans l\u2019espace. Ce qu\u2019il n\u2019est pas\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Oui, j\u2019ai utilis\u00e9 le verbe \u00ab\u202faccroire\u202f\u00bb (faire croire en ce qui n\u2019est pas), car en plus des bases de la cosmologie, j\u2019entends que vous disposiez du vocabulaire pour briller au cours des conversations sans fond des d\u00eeners sans fin\u202f!<\/p>\n<p>La th\u00e9orie du Big bang s\u2019\u00e9tablit dans le cadre de la <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Relativit%C3%A9_g%C3%A9n%C3%A9rale\" title=\"relativit\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9rale\" target=\"_blank\">relativit\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9rale<\/a>, dont <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Albert_Einstein\" title=\"Albert EINSTEIN\" target=\"_blank\">Albert <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Einstein<\/span><\/a> est <a href=\"http:\/\/www.physik.uni-augsburg.de\/annalen\/history\/einstein-papers\/1916_49_769-822.pdf\" title=\"Article d\u2019Albert Einstein\" target=\"_blank\">le principal fondateur<\/a><span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_627_1('footnote_plugin_reference_627_1_1');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_627_1('footnote_plugin_reference_627_1_1');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_627_1_1\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">1<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_627_1_1\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">Albert\u00a0<span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Einstein<\/span>, 1916. \u00ab\u202fDie Grundlage der allgemeinen Relativit\u00e4tstheorie\u202f\u00bb, <em>Annalen der Physik<\/em>, 49, pp.\u00a0769\u00a0\u2013\u00a0822.<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_627_1_1').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_627_1_1', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script>. C\u2019est-\u00e0-dire que chacun (chaque observateur) a son temps propre qui, s\u2019il ne varie pas pour ledit observateur, n\u2019est pas n\u00e9cessairement synchronis\u00e9 avec celui des autres observateurs. Au plus un individu donn\u00e9 se d\u00e9place rapidement par rapport \u00e0 un observateur ext\u00e9rieur, au plus, <strong>du point de vue de l\u2019observateur ext\u00e9rieur<\/strong>, son temps propre semble se dilater\u00a0: tandis que pour l\u2019observateur ext\u00e9rieur une seconde s\u2019\u00e9coule, moins d\u2019une seconde s\u2019\u00e9coule pour l\u2019individu en mouvement. <strong>Du point de vue de l\u2019individu en mouvement<\/strong>, en revanche, son temps propre n\u2019a pas chang\u00e9\u00a0: s\u2019il vous faut 2 heures, 27 minutes et 43 secondes pour lire mon <a href=\"http:\/\/littre.reverso.net\/dictionnaire-francais\/definition\/galimatias\/33579\" title=\"D\u00e9finition de \u00ab galimatias \u00bb dans le Littr\u00e9\" target=\"_blank\">galimatias<\/a>, vous aurez beau courir aussi vite que vous le pourrez, ce temps ne changera pas\u202f! De toute fa\u00e7on, pour que la d\u00e9synchronisation des temps propres soient v\u00e9ritablement sensible, il faut des vitesses bien sup\u00e9rieures \u00e0 celles auxquelles nous sommes habitu\u00e9s\u00a0: elle affecte \u00e0 peine les astronautes par rapport \u00e0 ceux qui restent sur Terre. Globalement, pour que son influence soit v\u00e9ritablement sensible, il faut se situer \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle stellaire.<\/p>\n<p>Pour ne pas se perdre, je n\u2019expliciterais pas les raisons de cette d\u00e9synchronisation dans ce billet. En attendant, je dois vous demander d\u2019admettre ces effets relativistes.<\/p>\n<p>Si un mouvement a un effet sur la d\u00e9synchronisation des temps propres, cela signifie qu\u2019un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne spatial (un d\u00e9placement) a un effet sur un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne temporel. Ce qui conduit \u00e0 consid\u00e9rer l\u2019espace et le temps comme deux notions ins\u00e9parables et s\u2019influen\u00e7ant l\u2019une l\u2019autre, de sorte que l\u2019on introduit la notion d\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Espace-temps\" title=\"l\u2019espace-temps\" target=\"_blank\">espace-temps<\/a>\u00a0: au lieu d\u2019un espace tridimensionnel et d\u2019un temps unidimensionnel, nous avons la notion unifi\u00e9e d\u2019espace-temps quadridimensionnel. Selon la th\u00e9orie de la relativit\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, cet espace-temps est sous l\u2019influence de la <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gravitation\" title=\"Gravitation\" target=\"_blank\">gravitation<\/a>, qui le d\u00e9forme \u2013 donc, vous avez suivi, le temps est lui aussi soumis \u00e0 l\u2019influence de la gravitation. Au passage, le deuxi\u00e8me objet d\u00e9forme lui aussi le tissu \u2013 c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire l\u2019espace-temps, vous avez bien suivi\u202f! Cette d\u00e9formation l\u2019emporte sur celle de l\u2019expansion, ce qui fait que cette derni\u00e8re n\u2019a pas d\u2019effet \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle du syst\u00e8me solaire. L\u2019expansion affecte la position relative des galaxies et des amas de galaxies entre eux, mais n\u2019influe pas sur la configuration des galaxies elles-m\u00eames.<\/p>\n<p>Puisque l\u2019Univers n\u2019est pas statique mais en expansion, il a une histoire. L\u2019id\u00e9e est alors d\u2019utiliser les \u00e9quations pour d\u00e9terminer l\u2019\u00e9tat de l\u2019Univers dans le pass\u00e9, en quelque sorte en passant le film \u00e0 l\u2019envers. Quant \u00e0 la notion de temps, \u00e0 cette singularit\u00e9, elle n\u2019a pas r\u00e9ellement de sens.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019origine de l\u2019Univers aurait-elle \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9finitivement identifi\u00e9e\u202f? Pas vraiment, car on ne peut plus parler aujourd\u2019hui du Big\u00a0bang comme on en parlait en 1950.<\/p>\n<p>La gravitation n\u2019est pas la seule force fondamentale dans l\u2019Univers. En fait, il y en a quatre\u00a0: la gravitation, donc, mais aussi <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%C3%89lectromagn%C3%A9tisme\" title=\"L\u2019\u00e9lectromagn\u00e9tisme\" target=\"_blank\">l\u2019\u00e9lectromagn\u00e9tisme<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Interaction_forte\" title=\"L\u2019interaction forte\" target=\"_blank\">l\u2019interaction nucl\u00e9aire forte<\/a> et <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Interaction_faible\" title=\"L\u2019interaction faible\" target=\"_blank\">l\u2019interaction nucl\u00e9aire faible<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>La relativit\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9rale est une th\u00e9orie de la gravitation, elle ne prend pas en compte les trois autres interactions. \u00c0 la diff\u00e9rence de la gravitation, ces trois autres interactions ont une action locale, de sorte que le mod\u00e8le d\u2019expansion de l\u2019Univers se basant uniquement sur la relativit\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9rale n\u2019est fond\u00e9 qu\u2019\u00e0 partir d\u2019un univers dont l\u2019expansion a \u00e9t\u00e9 suffisante pour que seule la gravitation ait un effet sensible \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle de cette expansion. Avant cela, l\u2019Univers est dans ce que l\u2019on nomme <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%C3%88re_de_Planck\" title=\"\u00c8re de PLANCK\" target=\"_blank\">l\u2019\u00e8re de <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Planck<\/span><\/a> (nomm\u00e9e d\u2019apr\u00e8s le physicien allemand <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Max_Planck\" title=\"Max PLANCK\" target=\"_blank\">Max\u00a0<span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Planck<\/span><\/a>), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/blogs\/bad_astronomy\/2013\/03\/21\/age_of_the_universe_planck_results_show_universe_is_13_82_billion_years.html\" title=\"\u00c2ge de l'Univers\" target=\"_blank\">dont l\u2019Univers est sortie il y a environ 13,82 milliard d\u2019ann\u00e9es<\/a>. Pour la d\u00e9crire, il faut prendre en compte simultan\u00e9ment les quatre interactions fondamentales. La singularit\u00e9 initiale \u2013 obtenue \u00e0 partir des seules \u00e9quations de la relativit\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, donc ne prenant en compte que la gravitation \u2013, se situerait quant \u00e0 elle dans l\u2019\u00e8re de <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Planck<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>C\u2019est l\u00e0 o\u00f9 le bas blesse, car l\u2019\u00e9lectromagn\u00e9tisme et les interactions faible et forte sont le domaine de la <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/M%C3%A9canique_quantique\" title=\"M\u00e9canique quantique\" target=\"_blank\">m\u00e9canique quantique<\/a>, laquelle est incompatible avec la relativit\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9rale.
